You can sunbatan for the health and wellness of yourself and the planet, but don’t forget to wear a sunhat.
And if you want to avoid having your eyes or eyesides swelled by the sun, be sure to wear sunscreen.
“I’m sure there are some things that people don’t realise,” says Dr. Peter Piot, professor of dermatology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
“But there are many things that are important.”
Piot and his colleagues have created a guide for people who want to sunbatana in a healthy way, with the aim of giving the public a better idea of what it’s like to be a naked human being.
In the United States, where a large proportion of the population is nudists, the average person is exposed to roughly 20 milligrams of UVB per hour.
Piot’s team, however, says people who don’t need UVB exposure might be better off avoiding the sun at least three times a day.
Pritchard says that while the sunscreen used to protect the skin from the sun is important, the most important thing to remember is that you are not putting your health at risk by being in the sun.
He recommends getting a mask and a sunscreen with a UV filter, but if you’re a regular wearer of sunblock, you can also get a special shade of tanning cream or a gel for that purpose.
He says it’s important to be aware of your surroundings and wear proper protective gear, such as sunglasses, to prevent the sunburns and sun-blocking creams from getting in your eyes.
“You can wear the same kind of clothing for a couple of days and it will protect you from the skin and the sun,” he says.
“It’s just a matter of how often you wear it and how often it needs to be reapplied.”
Pritchels group of researchers has published its research on the topic in a peer-reviewed journal.
“We have been doing a lot of work in the last few years that has been done to understand the different types of skin that we see in the general population, to better understand how we might reduce our risk of skin cancer, and to better identify ways that we might be able to minimize our skin-cancer risks,” says Pritches group chair and dermatologist, Dr. Michael Bochenek, MD.
“The first thing that we’ve found is that sunbatanas can actually be good for you, and that’s something we can’t ignore.”
